The Best Vegan Dining Options in Magic Kingdom at Disney World

Disney & Universal

In 2019 Disney World started offering vegan options in almost all of the restaurants at Disney World. And now in 2022 it’s easier than ever to be a vegan at Disney! The adoption of vegan dining in Disney World allows vegans to dine almost anywhere, choose from a range of different cuisines and enjoy different types of dining experiences!

Magic Kingdom is the original Disney World park, filled with thrilling rides, amazing themed lands and some great restaurants. But which ones are the best for vegans? Which restaurants should you be sure to visit during your time in Magic Kingdom?

Let’s dive into the best vegan dining options you can find at Magic Kingdom, and some of the ones you should avoid!

Table of Contents

Quick Service

Magic Kingdom has lots of quick service restaurants to choose from. These dining locations are similar to fast food restaurants where you order at a counter, collect your food and then seat yourself. This is the quickest way to dine in Magic Kingdom.

Casey’s Corner

Some of the best quick service vegan foods in Magic Kingdom can be found in Casey’s Corner and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café.

Casey’s Corner is an iconic Magic Kingdom restaurant on Main Street and is a must visit when you are at Disney World!

Come to Casey’s for their famous hot dogs, including two vegan versions! You can order either the plant-based hot dog or the loaded slaw dog, which is a fan favorite! It comes topped with pickled slaw, a roasted corn relish and barbecue vegan aioli!

Sitting in the hub, eating a Casey’s hot dog whilst looking at Cinderella Castle is a must have Magic Kingdom experience!

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café is in Frontierland and is home to Mexican cuisine. The Veggie Rice Bowl is made with grilled peppers and onions, black beans, lettuce, tomato, salsa and yellow rice. You can also purchase a side of guacamole. This dish is one of the fan favorites for vegans visiting Magic Kingdom and people particularly love that it is a whole foods option with no faux meat.

If you wish to dine at a quick service restaurant in Magic Kingdom you can save time by mobile ordering! Instead of waiting in a queue you can use the My Disney Experience app to order your food in advance. You simply select the restaurant, what you would like to eat, what time you would like to collect and then place your order. Once your timeslot is here head to the restaurant, select ‘I’m Here’ in the app and they will get your order prepared for you!

If you do need to make any modifications to your dish you will need to speak to a cast member so be sure to order at the counter instead of via mobile ordering in these circumstances.

Table Service

Magic Kingdom is also home to a range of table service restaurants. These are a great option if you are wanting a more substantial meal or to sit and have a break whilst dining. Magic Kingdom has some fantastic table service restaurants with great vegan options, with the best being Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper’s Canteen, Liberty Tree Tavern and Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper’s Canteen

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper’s Canteen is a hidden gem restaurant in Magic Kingdom! This Jungle Cruise themed restaurant serves Asian cuisine and is always rated one of the top restaurants in Disney World for vegans. Here you can find multiple dishes so you can enjoy a full three course meal if you wish!

To start with try the Falls Family Falafel that also comes with a homemade edamame hummus. This is a top rated dish! For the main course dine on the Curried Vegetable Crew Stew, made from vegetables, pineapple tofu and coconut rice topped in a curry sauce. The dessert is a refreshing Panna-Connie’s Congo Lime Delight, a vegan lime panna cotta.

Liberty Tree Tavern

Liberty Tree Tavern is a colonial New England style restaurant that serves traditional Thanksgiving style food. Come here with an empty stomach as this all you care to enjoy meal will have you leaving stuffed!

Dine on the declaration salad, an Impossible meatloaf with all the trimmings and a warm Johnny Appleseed Cake for dessert. And the best part of this family style meal is you can order as much as you like! If there are certain foods you like the most you can keep ordering more!

This meal costs a set price of $39 (plus tax and tip) and is a great way to fill up and get fuelled for the rest of the day!

Cinderella’s Royal Table

Cinderella’s Royal Table is one of the most popular restaurants in Disney World because it is actually inside Cinderella Castle! This is a really fantastic experience for a special occasion or for anyone who is a massive Disney World fan and wants a super special memory to commemorate their trip!

This restaurant serves a set three course menu and now offers a vegan option for each course. The vegan dishes are the Castle Salad, a Chickpea Panisse and Coffee Pot De Crème.

This restaurant used to offer character dining but this is currently suspended, with no date yet announced for its return. But never fear! Cinderella does make an appearance in the restaurant to greet everyone and for you to have the chance to take a photo of her.

Cinderella’s Royal Table also serves breakfast but it comes with a hefty price tag! The vegan breakfast option is avocado toast which will set you back a whopping $42! If you would love some avocado toast before your Magic Kingdom day you can easily visit Steakhouse ‘71 in the Contemporary Resort or the Grand Floridian Café in the Grand Floridian Resort where this dish will cost you $14. Both these resorts are just one monorail stop away from Magic Kingdom!

Places To Avoid

As well as some amazing vegan options in Magic Kingdom there are a few that are lackluster or not worth the price tag. These are the two restaurants in Magic Kingdom where the vegan choices are a little lacking compared to others.

Be Our Guest

Be Our Guest is a super popular restaurant as you can sit inside the iconic ballroom from Beauty and the Beast. This really is a super special experience! There are also two other rooms, the West Wing, where you can see the iconic rose, and The Rose Gallery which contains a beautiful statue of the Beast and Belle dancing.  So far so good right? The downside to Be Our Guest is that the food is not quite worth the price tag. This restaurant serves a set three course menu for $62. The vegan options are a seasonal salad, vadouvan spiced vegetables with a crispy corn cake and a vanilla cake with lemon curd. The food doesn’t quite live up to the price tag so you are really paying for the setting. For great vegan food there are much better choices in Magic Kingdom.

Pinocchio Village Haus

Pinocchio Village Haus is a quick service location in Fantasyland. It is set in a popular location and has a charming style but sadly the food here is lacking! The vegan option is a Plant-Based “Cheese” Pizza.

This sounds like it should be the ideal theme park meal! But sadly this dish is lackluster and offers very little flavor. With great quick service locations such as Pecos Bill available Pinocchio Village Haus is one to skip over!

Snacks

Magic Kingdom is home to a range of iconic Disney snacks that happen to be vegan! Don’t miss out on these!

Dole Whip

Dole Whip is one of the most famous Disney snacks and the great news is that it is vegan! There are three locations in Magic Kingdom that all serve different flavors. Just be aware that the coconut and vanilla are not vegan, but all the other flavors are ready for you to enjoy!

Aloha Isle, next to the Enchanted Tiki Room, is the most famous Dole Whip location and is where you can get the original pineapple flavor. You can also enjoy a raspberry – pineapple swirl here!

At Storybook Treats in Fantasyland you can cool off with the zesty lime flavor! You can also create a float here with the lime dole whip and a soda of your choice.

Head to Sunshine Tree Terrace, home of the famous Disney Orange Bird, for an orange or strawberry dole whip.

Disney Popcorn

Disney Popcorn is famous for its buttery flavor, but amazingly this snack is totally vegan!

Mickey Pretzel

The Instagramable Mickey Pretzel is a hearty, and very cute, savory snack. The pretzel itself is vegan, just order it without the cheese dip and instead pick up some mustard instead!

Conclusion

It has never been easier to be vegan at Disney World and the great news is the vegan options are clearly marked on the menus! Any time you see the green leaf symbol next to an item means this dish is plant-based, free from meat, fish, dairy, eggs and honey and suitable for vegans.

If there are dishes you would like to see if you could modify to make vegan, or if you have any questions, allergies or further dietary requirements, Disney chefs are super knowledgeable and are able to come to speak to you to answer any question you have or make modifications to your food if possible.

Now you know the best places to find vegan food in Magic Kingdom so all that is left to do is go and enjoy!
