However, it’s important to note that although the resort is open, there’s still plenty of construction going on. They still have to finish a good amount of the rooms over in the South tower. The remainder of the restaurants. All the entertainment areas. However The Bay at AVA is fully open. Beach access is done. Spa & gym are open! And the food & service has been amazing. AVA Experience: A New Kind of Luxury
AVA Resort Cancun is shaping up to be more than just a resort. It’s aiming to redefine all-inclusive travel with a range of events, amenities, and experiences. Let’s dive into what some of these are!
When Did AVA Resort Cancun Open?
AVA Resort Cancun officially opened on June 1st, 2024. However as of September 2024 construction is still going on to finish all of the rooms, restaurants, and entertainment areas.
Bookings are currently open and AVA Resort Cancun has rolled out their pre-opening introductory sale! Rates are up to 30% off, kids are 25% off, and all bookings through Caballeros Vacations get an upgrade to free private roundtrip transfers from Cancun airport!
Where Is It?
AVA Resort Cancun is located mere minutes outside of Cancun International Airport. Positioned right on the beach, between Moon Palace Cancun and Ventura Park.

Dining and Nightlife at AVA
- Variety of Choices: With 17 bars and restaurants, AVA is set to offer a range of dining experiences from casual to gourmet. As of September 2024 there are 8 restaurants open as we wait for the others to finish.
- Service Everywhere: Whether you’re by the pool or in your room, AVA aims to serve you wherever you are with full service dining anywhere – including pool-side and on their beach.
- Nightlife: Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, AVA’s nightlife has something for everyone. Including an 18+ experience at AVA’s one-of-a-kind nightclub, ORO, which features local Tulum DJs, AVA’s collective of in-house experts, and other visiting artists, hosting a party that promises to go all night long.
I again want to mention that we are still waiting for ALL restaurants to fully open up, but on behalf of ourselves, plus our clients, and numerous members in our AVA Resort Cancun Fan Club on Facebook, the food so far has been delicious!

Ages 13-19 only, aka, no kids, no parents—with basketball, ping pong, bowling, AR gaming, an indoor pool, snack bar, and more. A space to recharge, meet up, or just get away for a while.
The Bay at AVA Resort Cancun
AVA features a unique 2.8 acre saltwater lagoon – referred to as The Bay. This is what the renders above were intended to be. It didn’t turn out exactly like that, but it’s still by far the largest pool at a resort in Cancun.

The GALA Salon: On AVA’s second level, this 10,450 square foot space is great for presentations, events, and dinners.
